An all time Mozart favorite, among the first I wanted to transcribe.

Originally I had hoped it would turn out easy enough for me to play and have fun but I soon had to abandon that hope I wanted to make a good transcription out of it. An easy-to-play one woudl have forced me to chuck a lot of the original material which I absolutely didn’t want to do. Albeit the result is difficult to play, I made sure it wouldn’t be impossible. It is definitely out of league for amateurs but a concert pianist shouldn’t have trouble mastering it. This can be said of all my ‘difficult’ transcriptions.

There is a liberty in the second movement as I added a few notes on the bass.

You’ll note the timbre of the synthesized reference performance is different than the usual “mg2cr” one. I chose this one (I call it “pxpcr”) because I felt it was more suitable to this work. This is also the first time I used it in a transcription release. You’ll find it used again in some other releases but always as an exception.
